We give uniform to families in Sandwell who are experiencing financial hardship for FREE!
Financial aid for school uniform has been cut by 70% since 2010 making it difficult for families to get their children kitted out for school. At Kings Oak Uniform Bank we provide a full uniform for children in Primary or Secondary school.

We started off with a small amount of uniform that could kit no more than 10 children for school. So we teamed up with lots of schools to kindly give us their lost property which we would then give back to their students who needed it. Then we needed funding, we held a Play Day and Cake Sale at Kings Community Church and raised over £50 which all went to our cause. Sandwell council then gave us a town grant for a grand total of £490, which went towards buying new uniform, shelving, storage boxes and stationary. We created a Facebook page to help us grow and to build a following.
After the fundraising, town grants and donations we held our first open event which run for 6 weeks during the school holidays. By the end of the holidays we had supplied over 50 children with school uniform, that was over a year ago and since then that number has continued to grow to over 100 children. We have collected an impressive amount of uniform and have even needed more shelving units just to be able to store it all. We have families contact us every week either wanting to help or needing help themselves. Our charity has continued to grow and we thank everyone for there help to get us this far.

As of 2023 we have rapidly expanded our stock, and have since merged with other community project to form Brandhall Community Hub, where we are now based. We have set up our new room as a 'shop' layout so that customers can come and pick their own uniform and supplies in a dignified manner.
Early 2024, we were accepted for a grant from Sandwell Borough Council. This enabled us to undergo a refurbishment and update our room. A donation of hangers with sizes attached were given to us from Tesco. Both the grant and donations helped us to create a shop-like environment that helped us to organise our uniform in a way that was both dignified and simple for all. We have also been able to create an organised storage area for our overflow stock, this helps us to keep the room fully stocked with more uniform than we previously could.
As of late 2024 we are now fully operational, and successfully a part of the Brandhall Community Hub. Our 'shop' sees more than 100 children helped monthly, which we see as a success.

We are apart of the Brandhall Community Hub which is comprised of the following churches and projects - Christ Church Quinton, Sandwell Churches Link, Our Lady & St Huberts Catholic Church, Church Central South, SCVO, Brandhall Baby Bank.

Brandhall Community Hub has kindly let us use their building and gave us storage space since the start. This is were we are based.
The Oak Tree Centre have helped us set up our cause by requesting funding for us and by handling the financial side of things
All the schools in Sandwell that have teamed up with us and all the lovely people that live here that have been donating to us.
